Its main purpose is to bring sustainable hope to rural areas by empowering community members to solve their own problems and overcome challenges. The organization was founded in 2014 in response to the difficulties faced by the people of Mweningolongo Village in Karonga district. FOHOP's approach is to encourage locals to identify their own needs and work with them to develop solutions that are effective and sustainable. By involving the community in all stages of program design and implementation, FOHOP ensures that its projects promote social development and the responsible management of natural resources. The organisation's ultimate goal is to improve the living standards of rural communities, with a particular focus on women and children.

Grace Pads will be a crucial factor in the success of Fountain Hope's initiatives to improve menstrual health and hygiene management (MHHM) and sexual reproductive health (SRH) services for girl children in rural areas of Senior Chief Kilupula, Karonga district. With the support of Grace Pads, FOHOP will be able to empower and educate girls through the formation of girls' clubs who are trained as ambassadors in MHM.
